Do More With Tab Sets

NewsBoss Tab Sets

Purpose

This note explains how to configure and use NewsBoss Tab Sets to better organize and display the contents of the Queue List. Tabs Sets create more efficient workflows by displaying only the Queues and Media Libraries required at any time to enable faster, more intuitive drag and drop operations.

The information in this article applies to:

  • Basic Tab Sets (Main and Second Set) available in V4.2b or later.
  • Enhanced Tab Sets (Unlimited custom Tab Sets) available in V6.2 or later.

Using Tab Sets

Users can create multiple Tab Sets for any purpose and instantly load the desired sets when required. Tab Sets can be displayed as a single set shown in Figure 1, or as double sets shown in Figure 2. TabSets2

                                                                                                    Fig.2 Double Tab Sets

Figure 1 shows a single Tab Set containing all queues required by the user. Stories can be dragged and dropped onto the tab of the destination queue. Figure 2 shows double Tab Sets with newscasts being produced in the upper set, and the main content queues (Scripts, Wires, Email, Twitter, RSS Feeds and main media libraries) in the lower set. This layout enables drag and drop between all queues plus stories can be dragged into position in displayed newscasts.

Users can create any number of Tab Sets to load whenever desired. Typical Tab Sets contain rundowns by shift, key content queues, incoming Wires or Media Libraries.

Configuring Tab Sets

Tab Sets are created and controlled by Users with the icons in the yellow ribbon above the Queue List.
