The Company
Desktop Technologies was founded in early 1994 with the
goal of developing a high quality, affordable Windows based newsroom system
for radio. During this time NewsBoss been installed in over 400 newsrooms in
over 20 countries.
Desktop Technologies prides itself in being a customer driven company.
We listen to customers and strive to keep abreast of the ever changing
broadcasting industry, ensuring continual improvement of our
products to meet the real needs of today's broadcasters.

Strategic Alliances
Broadcast Electronics Inc.
Since 1994 Desktop Technologies has maintained a marketing
alliance with Broadcast Electronics Inc. Broadcast Electronics is a world leader
in radio broadcast technologies including the range of AudioVAULT digital audio
storage and presentation systems.
Broadcast Electronics distributes NewsBoss in the USA
and also markets NewsBoss through its extensive network of dealers in the Americas,
Europe, Africa and Asia.
Through its Digital Customer Service Division, Broadcast Electronics
provides high quality first level support to NewsBoss customers in the USA and its
dealer network around the world.
ENCO Systems Inc.
In August 2001 Desktop Technologies entered into a marketing
agreement with ENCO Systems Inc. ENCO Systems is the developer of world class
digital audio delivery systems including DAD and Presenter.
From its Detroit facility, ENCO distributes NewsBoss in the
USA, Canada and Mexico. ENCO also offers NewsBoss through its worldwide network
of dealers.
ENCO maintains a highly skilled customer support team in the
USA enabling the provision of first level NewsBoss support to its own customers
as well as its worldwide dealer network.
DAVID Systems GmbH
DAVID Systems develop and supply high quality systems for
broadcasting and playout. The flagship radio product, DigaSystem can be customized
to meet the unique needs of each operation in which it is installed. For more
than 15 years, radio stations around the world have relied upon their innovative
on-air systems which offer the highest degree of reliability.
NewsBoss can be tightly integrated with the DigSystem providing
the highest quality system available for radio newsroom operations.
Principals
Bob Miller
Director - Software Engineering
Bob has the role of chief software engineer for Desktop Technologies
and has a background as a qualified professional engineer. He has been writing
software full time for over 20 years in the medical, banking and broadcasting
sectors. Bob has a highly disciplined approach to software engineering and endeavors
to produce the highest quality software possible.
Kurt Lass
Director - Product Marketing
Kurt has spent over 30 years in the radio industry, first as
a broadcast engineer, including 15 years with Radio 2GB in Sydney Australia.
2GB has a long history as a leading news and talk radio station. His extensive
experience with the "first generation" newsroom automation systems provided
much of the background for the initial development of NewsBoss. Kurt's primary
roles include marketing, development of product specifications and writing of
some of the online documentation for NewsBoss.

Esther Bosman - Aramaya Pty Ltd
Training Specialist
Esther is a specialist end-user software trainer and writer with nearly 20
years experience in the software industry. Esther has trained thousands of people in both large
and small companies as well as major government organizations, and provides the level of
professional service that has clients specifically asking for her again and again.
As well as training NewsBoss customers, Esther is also the author of the
NewsBoss User Guide.
Ken Cavanagh - Allegry Pty Ltd
Training Specialist
Ken has 20 years experience in the radio industry as a working journalist
and news director. Ken has worked for many Australian radio stations, most recently as the
News Director of 3MMM/FOX in Melbourne.
As well as training NewsBoss clients, Ken runs a communication and public
relations consultancy.
